@IS provides customized localization assistance including software translation, XML, Help files, menus, programming notes and even the code itself for certain applications - in any computer language for any platform or operating system.

Experience includes engineering apps, ATM and kiosk apps, oil and gas software, banking and inventory apps, scanner software, on-line applications of various types, and powerful experience in localization of telecom applications from Cisco Systems to Chevron Texaco, Merck to Endress & Hauser.

@International Services works closely with the client's engineers, providing high quality code segment translation, assistance in simplification of the localization process, valuable input regarding overseas product users, artwork and button translation, and coordination between software, screen captures and related users manuals and websites.

@IS brings to the table wide expertise in sentence concatenation. "Concatenation" is the stringing together of phrase text to form complete, grammatically correct sentences. Examples:

<you have> <number> <messages>

<entry> <deleted>

<Your order is> < not in stock.>

<Order:> <order number> <will be shipped on> <Monday> <June> <15> <2004>

All of which are vastly differently in Japanese, Korean, Russian, Arabic and even Spanish than in English.

Such concatenated sentences can become extremely complex in other languages. Languages have hair-raising grammar rules, up to 14 different plurals, 9 numbersets, 25 pronouns, multiple genders ("sexes"), different numeric concatenation patterns (rather than <ten><thousand><two><hundred>), and other important language issues that affect localization programming and text or audio playback. @IS provides either programming notes to guide the client's programmers, or even the code itself in any programming language. All in such a way that satisfies the wildly divergent grammar requirements for 200 languages, and incorporates smoothly into the client's applications.

SYSTEM GLOBALIZATION

@INTERNATIONAL SERVICES is the inventor of the GlobalConcatTM globalization process, by which concatenation for audio, digital text and web read-out function perfectly in over 200 languages including European, Asian and Middle Eastern languages... with one single programming effort.

GlobalConcatTM

GlobalConcat is a one-time programming solution to support perfect sentence grammar in up to 200 languages, plus perfect date, time, number concatenation. GlobalConcat can save hundreds of hours of programming localization effort throughout the years, from cleaning up a legacy system with current localization woes, to adding new prompts, new features and new languages. Once the rules of GlobalConcat have been implemented, future coding need only be produced for English, yet will function across the language spectrum with 99.9% perfection.

GlobalConcat is a combination of peripheral code generating database, language rule sets, programming guidelines and services that assist the client in making their CT/IVR technology ready for any world language. Instead of simply translating prompts and suggesting new prompt sequences, @I.S. assists the client in evolving their product to be able to handle all the nuances of any language, with solutions to meet all grammatical rules which are vital to the creation of a professional internationalized product.

GlobalConcat is not a "plug and play", it is a code generator. The client uses the structures, concatenated sentence peripheral database, algorithms and design patterns recommended in GlobalConcat to adjust their prompt playback system to use expanded rule sets. These rule sets help to determine grammatical correctness for numbers, dates, times, word usage and ordering so that the resultant concatenated strings sound as if they were recorded as complete sentences by native professional speakers.

Once the techniques of GlobalConcat have been implemented, the client owns those techniques and the accompanying algorithms and databases. They serve as the underpinnings of the prompt generation and sequencing algorithms of the client's system. New prompts, and even new languages can be added without engineering time. Once concatenation and coding function in English, the system will function in up to 200 other languages with 99.99% accuracy.

DEFICIENCIES OF ENGLISH BASED PROGRAMMING

The section below allows you to check your own concatenation system playback in foreign languages. Other languages are not spoken in the same grammatical order as English, and vary widely across the language spectrum. Numbers, dates, times are also wildly divergent. Over 90% of English-based concatenated applications sound to the ears of listeners in Japan, China, Spain, Korea and dozens of other countries. Click below on blue areas for examples.

Every language has its own order and own peculiarities that are of major importance to the User. Other languages also have multiple numbersets, whereas English only has one numberset ( 1,2,3,4...). Other languages have various genders ("sexes") of nouns that affect their corresponding adjectives and numbers, and other complications. These differences are not optional, they are mandatory. When not re-programmed for the language, below is what your international Users hear.
